I recently released a lower cost gift guide, but then I thought it might be helpful to put together a list of higher priced items that have been absolutely awesome in my shop. Nothing is recommended that I have not owned or used for an extensive period of time.

DEWALT DW745 10-Inch Compact Job-Site Table Saw with 20-Inch Max Rip Capacity
As many of you know, I agonized over my next table saw for months. It came down to DeWalt, Bosch and Ridgid. I am a HUGE fan of Bosch but DeWalt won this battle, mainly due to its size, the clever flip down extra fence and the reviews across all sites – Home Depot, Lowes and Amazon. I chose the DW745 ever the 780 because the added improvements were not worth the cost to me which are simply rip cut size to be able to rip 24″. Also the DW744 is lighter, and I need a good portable saw.

I have two of these in my mega garage, and they are perfect. I can adjust shelves and use them for bins, storage and the kids bicycles and toys. They are a must for my shop.

Kreg K4MS Jig Master System
If you don’t have a Kreg Pocket Hole system, you really need one. There are so many great things you can do with it if you want to do any type of joinery. I actually sold my K4 in favor of the K5, but I think the K4 is better.

Bosch IDH182WC-102 18-Volt Impact Driver with 4-Ah FatPack Battery Bundle
I know what you are thinking. Are you SERIOUS?! These are soooo expensive. And you are right. I spent about $450 on the set of two drills and two wireless batteries in 2014. But you know what? I still have them and they are INCREDIBLE drills. I would click the link and look around at the different sets they offer. But while I was skeptical of the wireless charging platform from Bosch, I have been THRILLED with it. Don’t be shy, they are expensive, but I wouldn’t recommend if I didn’t think they were perfect.

Rockwell JawHorse Portable Material Support Station – RK9003
If you ever need a third or fourth hand, these station is for you. There are a lot of different ways you can use it if you don’t have a huge work bench. It is also very mobile friendly, which I love.

MeFOTO Classic Aluminum Backpacker Travel Tripod Kit – Black (A0350Q0K)
A hundred bucks for a TRIPOD?! If you do ANY sort of video or photography in your work, you need a good tripod. I used to own the $200 version (HERE) but ended up downsizing. MeFOTO makes the best in my opinion. They are steady, strong and have a leveling bubble on them. They are also easy to change different mounts. As a bonus, you can convert it to a monopod for when you just need a stabilizer.

Quartet Glass Whiteboard, Non-Magnetic Dry Erase White Board, 4′ x 3′, Infinity, Frosted Surface (G4836F)
I love writing on big white boards. It helps me process. I thought for my latest whiteboard I would go with a glass one. I saw it in a local office and loved it. It looks clean and somewhat decorative. I am really glad that I spent the extra money for this model.
