#makeauthentic

Instagram has become such a great place for me to meet people, get challenged and be inspired.  I have enjoyed following so many great people and their craft.  My hope with Field Treasure has always been to be able to feature others who are learning, developing and practicing their craft in their own way.  I love the idea of things being made in an authentic way. But, I need a way to find you – a hashtag!  So, here is #makeauthentic.  It’s a challenge.  It’s an encouragement.  It’s real.  The two words that make up MAKE AUTHENTIC are just plain awesome.  

MAKE – (verb) to form (something) by putting parts together or combining substances; construct; create.
AUTHENTIC – (adjective) of undisputed origin; genuine.

How great is that?  When you use this hashtag, that’s what you are saying.   You are making it and it is genuine.

Since this isn’t my full time gig, there will be lots of times when I am unable to be in my shop or house creating and making things.  In those times, I’d love to be able to feature and share about others who are doing awesome stuff.  All you have to do is use the hashtag #makeauthentic.  I’d love to feature you at some point.  Here is what I am looking for if you use #makeauthentic in your post on Instagram:

1. Genuine.  Be yourself.  It doesn’t have to be perfect.  Just honest.
2. Quality Photo.  It doesn’t have to be amazing, but show that you put effort into it and get creative!
3. An image of something in process, a ‘behind the scenes’ look, or just a finished product.
