What is an “affiliate commission”?
An affiliate commission means that if you click on one of the links on my website and purchase the item(s) I recommend, at no additional cost to you, I will get a small commission for referring you.  These commissions help me pay for the many expenses that bring you more how-to and projects content.

Do these affiliate commissions make you biased?
If you choose to buy the products that I recommend as a result of my use and/or research, that work is often (but not always) supported through a small affiliate commission from the service provider when they make a sale. If you return your purchases because you are dissatisfied or the recommendation is bad, I’ll make nothing. There is no incentive for me to pick an inferior product or respond to pressure from service providers—in fact, it’s quite the opposite. I think that’s a pretty fair system that keeps me committed to serving my audience first.

Honestly, I would never want to recommend something I didn’t like myself. The most important thing to me is the trust I have from you. If I recommend something because I’m biased or lazy, and it’s a bad recommendation, you wouldn’t want to support my work.
